Leak behind driver seat

David Dunlap

The last two times out in rainy conditions we have noticed water on the floor behind the drivers seat. This was while driving with the banquettte slide in. Now we are parked on the street with a definite tilt towards the passenger side, slide in and again there is water on the floor. We have not seen the puddling with the slide out and parked in a level position. Nothing dripping from the ceiling nor down the slide or visible with a flashlight coming through the seal between the slide and the outer frame. Any thoughts on the cause here?

Dave,
On our 2012 J, noticed that the bottom seal was not flipping all the way over in one area when the slide was in the closed position.
What water that was coming in was being caught in the rubbed catch area on the floor at the front slide opening.
Looked like Winnebago had not properly located the seal to allow it to flip over the full distance when closing.
Solved the problem by installing low profile rubber weather stripping on the slide ends, top and bottom outer surfaces.
Looks funny but works.
Installed the weather stripping on the diagonal to reduce stress on the slide mechanism.
Also placed the weather stripping away from the edges to facilitate a "full flip" of the seal in both the in and out positions.

Three photos should be there, attached somewhere in this post.
They tend to jump around on the post?

Check the roof cove seal as well, that's what caused my leak that sometimes showed up behind the driver's seat.

I removed all the old seal materials and revealed using winnebago recommended material. There is a great video on this from lichtenstein on doing this, I can see if I can find it if needed.

Make sure the seal on the slideout is sealing properly.  They are supposed to flip depending on the direction the slideout is going.  Mine didn't so I glued molding vertically on the side of the slideout to help the seal flip.  Hope this helps.
